This is without a doubt one of our favourite places to escape and enjoy great coffee, good tunes and off the chart tasty food.  Plus add, Shamus the most loveliest of cafe managers, who always greets me with a “hello lovely”, you can quickly see why we love this place.

Soooooo, Folk is tucked away just off Ewingsdale Road, situated on a cosy little corner far away from the crowds and Byron hustle, making it the perfect spot to retreat to and enjoy the good vibes and cool tunes.

At this much loved local mecca you’ll find a plant based menu that has this mostly carnivore consistently surprised and excited, you see you’ve got to be reeeeeeeally good at building flavours when not using meat to hold my attention, and these guys do it every single time!

OK, so I’m going to let you in on a little secret ………. when I look at a menu, I am pretty much only just scan the menu for ingredients I like and as soon as I spot something I love that’s it, I stop reading and just order it.  This little habit of mine is mostly floorless, though I do have to admit sometimes I get order envy when I see a dish come out that I didn’t “see”on the menu!

So my current go to favourite at this cuter than cute cafe is ……. Grilled Zataar Pitta Bread, Braised Mushrooms, Marinated Labne and Pistachio, Picked Baby Cucumber, Poached Egg, Hummus and Garden Greens oh and yes …….. I of course added local Fetta too!

Oh yes and of course the coffee is always bang on too!

If you haven’t already been to Folk, we suggest to run don’t walk!

Until next time.
